Hazrun - A Women's Education Partnership University Graduate
Our undergraduates are equipped with skills to make a difference. They will be much in demand when there are opportunities for peaceful development in the Nuba mountains.
Hazrun has been supported by Women's Education Partnership and she is one of over 300 undergraduates whom we have helped.
Please continue to support this unique education programme for disadvantaged women.
Hazrun graduated in April from the Rural Extension Education and Development faculty of Ahfad University for Women with a bachelor's degree with distinction. She is a Nuba from the Moro tribe and comes from Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan state.
Hazrun tells her story
"My father married four wives and our family numbers 23. My mother is the first wife and I am the fourth born of 17 children. I am the only one who graduated from University. I am very lucky to have this great chance that you have given to me. The rest of my brothers and sisters did not go to schools because there is not enough income for the family.
When peace comes, I will go back to Nuba Mountains to help the people who are needy. I am really grateful for the great opportunity that you have given to me. I am willing to have the same sprit to help others. I appreciate you for enlightening my way to achieve this wonderful Distinction. You are the ones who let me know what I can become in the future so I am really happy for that."
