Praise and Recognition for our Work
Our colleague Saudi from the Khartoum office represented Together for Sudan at a seminar on illiteracy organised in Gedaref in early February by UNICEF and the Sudanese Ministry of Education. In his concluding speech the Director of the National Council for the Eradication of Illiteracy paid special tribute to Together for Sudan as "unrecognised fighters" whose great and effective efforts were helping to eradicate illiteracy among Sudanese women.
It is always good to be recognised. But Together for Sudan is well aware that there is so much more to do, especially in Darfur, where we have begun training of literacy teachers, and plan to expand classes when the security situation permits.
Please give to support us in this work.
